Belly Dancers and Tendonitis

Just a short post today...I was struck last week with a case of tendonitis in my wrist. It's amazing how much we use our wrists without even realizing it. The combination a dealing craps at the casino, making jewelry all day and using the computer mouse was just too much I guess. Hopefully, I'll be back to normal in a few more days..if I'm a good girl and don't use it too much.

On a happier note, I will be participating in MS Gulf Coast Bellydance Festival next weekend at the Mary C. O' Keefe Cultural Center in Ocean Springs. There will be classes offered all day long ending in a performance at 7 PM. The classes are being offered by the Priestess Dancers of MS. Come down for a visit, take a class, enjoy the performance, or maybe learn about this ancient form of tribal dancing.

Hope your wrist get better soon. After the inflammation is gone, you might want to do some strengthening exercises. Good luck.

I had terrible wrist problems when I left my last career. I got one of those gloves and I wore it all the time. When I started dealing I wore it every minute I wasn't dealing, even during my breaks. And I've never had a problem since.

ChezChani- I'm sure dealing craps doesn't help. I am wearing the brace. They are actually letting me wear it at work..I know you're shocked. I can wear it for the next week. I have a feeling I'll be wearing during the day for awhile to come while I make jewelry.

Those gloves are also great for carpal tunnel, I have one for each hand. Hang in there!

Oooh ouch, I know how that feels. I have a brace that I keep near my bed and whenever I feel the twinge start up, I sleep with the brace on. Helps stop the pain before it really gets going. Good luck and have fun at the festival!!!! :) :)
